Forget Where He Hitched Anather

In Glenwood on Saturday afternoon Leopold Knoefler, a well known farmer west of town, tied his team to the court house park and later could not find them. Investigating by sheriff Linville, officers discovered the horses hitched on the south side where Leopold initially tied them, prompting laughter from all.

Seed corn exhibition at Glenwood hardware store

Farmers urged to attend a Saturday display at Daniel Hardware in Glenwood showing a test box of sprouted seed corn and testing methods. The event promotes Mills county Iowa Ideal seed corn bred by J F Summers Seed House in White Cloud township. Chas H Summers will answer questions and take orders. A ten ear sample of the Iowa Ideal white corn has won premiums.

Pacific Junction to Hear Ditch Petition May 18

Sheriff Linville and Deputy Dalton served nearly 400 property holders in Pacific Junction and vicinity with Pony Creek ditch notices. The County Board sets May 18 to consider the petition. objections must be filed that day. Opposition to the new ditch is reported.

Game season closed on all game birds and squirrels

Our sportsmen should take notice that the hunting season is now closed on all game birds and also on squirrels, and will remain closed until next September. Game Warden Tom Hall is anxious to have the laws enforced in this section, and sportsmen should give him their hearty co operation. The fishing season will open May 15 on all game fish.
