Social gatherings in Glenwood clubs and hosts

Mr and Mrs L G Linville entertain a dominoes group this evening and Mrs Linville hosts a ladies party tomorrow afternoon. Mrs F M McCluskey entertained ladies yesterday afternoon for guest Miss Fritts. Queen Mills domino club did not meet this week and will close the season next Monday at C P Hale home. Kitchen Club met Tuesday at the I Sawyer home with Mr and Mrs Scott McClure hosting. Six hand euchre produced high scores by Seth Laraway and Mrs Henry Evernham.

A. C. Gourly of Glenwood makes a public bid for the clerkship subject to Republican voters at the June primary. He previously held the clerk position for one term during 1905 and 1908.

Burglary at Malvern W Gingaman Restaurant

Malvern reports a burglary at the W Gingaman restaurant Tuesday night. Between 10 and 11 o clock an estimated 12 dollars was taken from the till. Police have no clue and continue inquiries.

Silver City residents spent Sunday with the Tipton family of Tabor while Glenwood attorneys Genung & Genung were in town Friday evening. JW Little went to Omaha’s Presbyterian hospital for treatment. Passion week services run nightly at the Methodist church led by Rev. Peter Jacobs ending with next Sunday's Easter program. Rev WG Cooper left with household items for Alberta seeking a claim, Mrs Cooper and children followed. Delos Walker prepares to move to Cheyenne County Nebraska for homesteading. City council approved a 10 mill general tax, 4 mill lighting, and 3 mill street labor credits. Ida McCue narrowly escaped a serious kitchen fire that burned hair and exposed skin.

Miss Hazel Aistrope is sick with typhoid fever at her North Tabor home. Tabor college closed for spring vacation and opens next Tuesday. Professor Frank Gillilan remains feverish in bed. Thomas Flood visited from Treynor for the weekend. Walter Dykes of Ottumwa guest at Mrs EE Gilliland's home. Sidney high school and Tabor college played a game, score 4 to 2 in favor of Tabor. B QO Sheldon improving in Hot Springs Dak and hopes to return next month. Mrs C M Rice and daughter visited Malvern. Miss Mary Christy fell from a saddle but was not seriously hurt.
