19 Attend S.G. Meeting at St Andrew's October 1957
The South Group of St Andrew's W.A. met at Mrs. Merton Thexton's home on Wednesday October 2 1957 with 19 members present. Mrs Lawrence Winslow led the devotional study and Mrs Johnston Rowland read from First Corinthians Chapter 3. Mrs Albert Olan presided over general business and plans for a Christmas party were discussed followed by a social half hour with Mrs Don Graham and Mrs Gerald Hubbeard assisting. Next meeting is scheduled for November 6 at Mrs Herbert Patton's home with good attendance hoped for.

Beavers a Nuisance in Most Areas
A Renfrew Mercury clipping shows beavers troubling farmers near Plevna Ontario. A beaver sat on a skinned carcass in a dog house while dogs barked nearby at 4 a.m. A Conservation Officer advised dam destruction and lanterns with tin cans to deter the beavers, but the farmer reported mixed results after several nights.
