Night Driving Hints For You

Arch Bryce of the Canadian Highway Safety Conference warns that night driving is more dangerous as daylight fades. Tips include keeping fuel, tires, lights, and a flashlight ready, turning on parking lights at sunset, stopping for breaks, pulling over in fog or fatigue, dimming headlights, carrying coffee for alertness, avoiding alcohol, and not picking up unknown hitchhikers.

Local girls win at inter school field day

On Friday October 4 three schools Orono Millbrook and Blackstock held a field day. Orono led early and finished with top points though Millbrook won three individual trophies and Blackstock one. Winners included Norma Earle Ardis MacArthur Gail Lawson Eric Carleton Helen Wright and Marshall Keast.

Lions Roar Opens Millbrook Club Season 1957-58

The Millbrook Lions Club begins the 1957-58 season with a second dinner meeting on October 7 and a September 16 opener. Plans include an annual Hallowe en Party at the Armouries October 31 and committees to study costs and health standards for a community swimming pool. Charles Fisher shared photos from a trip to the British Isles and Europe. The Ladies Lions contributed a roast beef dinner.

C.C.C.E Leadership Training at Grace Church

Forty two, now forty four. Teachers students and others are invited to attend leadership training about God’s dear Son. Grace Church hosts sessions Tuesday at 7 45 p.m.

Sunday Morning At St. Andrew's Communion Service Notes

The service at St. Andrew's focused on the meaning of communion as fellowship with Christ and with believers, stressing equality across peoples and the Lord's table welcoming all nations. The junior choir performed, ten Session members assisted, and there were 105 communicants. upcoming events include a Thanksgiving Service on October 13 and the 75th Anniversary on October 20.

Christian Youth Bible Sunday Observed at CYUC Meeting
