Millbrook High Field Day Wins Big Over Reds

Millbrook High School held field day at the exhibition grounds with 78 students split into Blues and Reds. Blues led by Helena Wright and Wayne Challice defeated Reds 292 to 233. Event winners include Norma Earle in junior girls standing broad jump and Don Earle in the senior boys 100 yard dash among many others. six champions and six runners up listed with multiple top placements across junior, intermediate, and senior divisions.

Opening Night At Grace Church Leadership School Draws Crowds

Forty two attendees including young men and women registered for courses at Grace Church Leadership Training School Tuesday night. Herbert Lowes of O.C.C.E. welcomed guests as Mrs. John R. Thompson served as Dean and E J Love of Springville organized recreation. Attendees are invited to enroll in courses by Chisholm and Quinn and may still receive full credit next Tuesday October 8.

First Large Potato Weighs 2 Lb 14 Oz

Mr Albert Olan sends in the season's first bragging Murphy giant potato. A Chippewa variety weighed 2 pounds 14 ounces, deemed a hearty meal for any man. He jokes that honesty kept it from tipping to three pounds.

Winnipeg. A group of 250 tourists joined Canadian National Railways 21st annual Churchill tour in Manitoba. The six day trip drew many Americans from 24 states with stopovers at Dauphin Flin Flon and Cranberry Portage before reaching Churchill.
