Grace Presbyterian Church Ladies Aid held its May meeting at Mrs Eakins home on Wednesday May 6 with twelve members and one visitor present. Mrs L Farrow opened with prayer and Mrs Haw read Psalm 26. The churches one found a ion hymn was sung. Minutes were read and adopted. Treasurer reported and business discussed. Mrs Farrow thanked hostel for meeting. Next meeting set for June 2 at Mrs Haw's. Mizpah benediction closed the meeting. Tea was served by the hostess.
Clyde Gilmour, a nationally known newspaper columnist for movie and record reviews, hosts Festival in Sound a new CBC radio series. Mrs. Douglas Logan formerly Olive Nancy Northcott, 59, died May 9 1959 at Peterborough Civic Hospital after sudden illness. A Lakefield native, she taught at Carscadden’s Pontypool and Fraseyyville schools before marriage. Survived by husband two daughters Joyce and Dorothy two sons Murray and John. Funeral May 11 at 3 30 p m from her residence with Rev R R Bonsteel Bethany. interment Fallis Cemetery.
