Local Boy Argue Receives University of Toronto Degree

Lawrence W. Argue son of Mrs H C Argue and the late Mr Argue of Cavan Township earned a B A Sc degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toronto on Tuesday He graduated from O A C Guelph last May and now works in engineering extension with the Department of Agriculture in Guelph His mother Ronald Argue Luella Kennedy and Mrs Ray Stewart attended the convocation.

We report Mr Art Fovottii was taken to St Josephs Hospital Sunday evening. Mr and Mrs Fred Britten Wshawa and Mr and Mrs Fred Britten Sr with cousin Miss Estella Hetherington visited Sunday. Dr M E Hobbs and family visited his parents in Toronto before a holiday to England. John Coulter Sr has returned home from hospital and we hope to see him out soon. Mrs W Buck has returned home from St Josephs Peterborough after an operation. Mr and Mrs Ken Foottit and family and Miss Alice Hawkins visited Mrs A Huggins in Fort Erie over the weekend. Mrs Charlotte Delahay, two years with her brother Mr John Minnemore, leaves June 1 to stay with Mrs Charles Beatty Bewdley. Mr Minnemore is in Fairweather Private Hospital. Mrs G Howson and daughter plan to return home from an extended stay in England on June 12. Piva Rowson service at Downsview Rehabilitation Hospital Toronto comes home weekends to manage the house and garden. Weldon Coulter and Jack Barringer were in Peterborough Thursday night for a stamp exhibition. A feature was a block of 30 used King George V $1.00 stamps of Canada, rare item, largest block seen. The block was for sale at $10.00 and considered a bargain.
