Thomas Mastros 19 a Milford resident and Milford High School student died instantly when a Ford V-8 overturned on a Beaver Milford road shortly after 1:00 am Sunday. Carrol Jobs a schniti and chums suffered minor injuries. The accident happened as the party returned from a dance likely at high speed. Mastros was born November 6 1921 and was elected student president. Funeral services were held at the Milford L D S ward chapel with interment in Milford cemetery. He is survived by his mother three sisters Marilyn Hardy Norma Helen Mastros Marie Erickson and brothers Joseph and Wallace Mastros.
Mr and Mrs J C Smith and family enjoyed a lakeside outing at Puf fers lake Sunday. Their daughter Mrs Berlyn Osborn and baby visited for the past month and were met by Mr Osborn and family at the lake. The group returned with them to Escalante.
Prosper Mining Company orders a dry magnetic separator costing about 4500 delivered for the mill north of town selection to separate garnet from scheelite. Stearns Magnetic Separator Co. receives the order five and a half miles north of town. A Jeffries vibratory feeder is also being installed.
Major H A Rich Utah state director explains the second registration day set for July 1 and how registrants with multiple residences may choose one for local board jurisdiction. The card will show a residence space and a separate mail address field to ensure proper registration and mailing.
Galen Gilmore a 19 year old Las Vegas call boy and former Milford high pupil was the first killed in a triple murder and suicide. Union Pacific brakeman Warne J Tyler shot Gilmore then killed his wife Evelyn Taylor and fellow brakeman Charles Decker before shooting himself.

Beginning July 1 2941 Utah requires every marriage applicant to obtain a medical examination and two blood tests for syphilis from a physician. Tests must occur within 15 days of license issuance with procedures outlined for in state and out of state options.
Three Beaver county teachers enrolled in the University of Utah summer session last week and began classes that will occupy the next five weeks of the summer. Lee Gourley, Minersville junior high principal, will study history of education educational measurements and educational problems. He earned a BS at BYU in 1987 and is pursuing an MS. Flord Otter Milford high school teacher will study physical education and history. he earned a BS at BYU in 1894. Walter S. Joseph Beaver elementary teacher also enrolled.
Oral Williams a 33 year old Milford farmer died after touching 1 00 volt lines on a Williams farm pole in South Milford. Coroner’s inquest ruled death from high tension wire contact. Williams, described as a hard worker, helped run the Hopkins farm with brother Arthur who was recovering from injuries. Funeral set for Saturday at Milford ward chapel with burial in Salina.
Milford friends announce the marriage of Miss Margaret Cochrane to Robert Elliott Cheatham. The ceremony was held Saturday June 21 in Pomona California with relatives present including the Cochrane family. The couple will reside at 1159 West 39th Street Los Angeles.
Graveside rites were held at Milford cemetery for Mrs Anna Spooler Weidner 58 who died June 18 in Los Angeles of congestive heart failure. The body was brought to Milford for interment beside her husband Peter Weidner Milford’s longtime shoe maker. Born November 1 1884 at Hantsfield Hungary she was mother of 15 children 12 surviving. Most of the survivors attended the service from southern California where several sons work in the railroad service.
Mrs. Vera Bond announces a new Kindergarten program for children eligible for first grade this fall. The eight six week term will start in July with exact dates to be announced.

Condit, 24, California parolee convicted of first degree murder of Harold A Thorne, on March 20 near Cedar City, chose death by shooting when sentence imposed June 20 at Parowan. Attorney John Moore Williams filed a motion for new trial.
Ensign Rondo J. Law formerly of Delta was killed in a scooter plane crash at the Norfolk Virginia naval base on a Saturday. He graduated from Delta High School and Brigham Young University where he was active in athletics. He is survived by wife Rens Carling Law a four month old son his parents Mr and Mrs Robert J Law of Delta and several brothers and sisters. Ensign Law was alone in the plane near the air base when the accident occurred in view of his captain. Ensign Ladi Gardner a heavy companion accompanies the body to Testa for a military funeral Monday.
