J. P. Adams 73, longtime Union Pacific roadmaster in Milford, died June 2 from injuries a day earlier in a car crash near Riverside county while en route to a Tonlescal canyon site. Survived by widow Mrs. Adams and stepson and stepdaughter Fern Galnover and George Le Hirrie. Maxwell, 62, was driver. both men were hospitalized in critical condition. Adams active in Union Pacific Old Timers and Boosters clubs. Milford home later became property of Neely and Williams families.
A. Kirk, Stanley Voorhees, and Vance Fisher become new owners of the Hanging Rock open-air dance pavilion, succeeding Wallace Outzen after last season’s floods. The resort sits on part of the 200-acre Jones McKnight property. Karl S. Dainton recently acquired the land from W. W. Tanner, with Carlton retaining the farm. The new owners plan extensive rehabilitation to elevate the site as a premier southern Utah destination, with opening dance this Saturday per News handbills.
Kenneth Russey, former lifeguard from Worm Springs and son of Mr and Mrs S O Russey of Milford, will oversee Milford swimming pool this season. He has prepared the facility for opening, aims to install an international diving board, and is a longtime member of the ALA Dr. for years, pursuing certified status in swimming and teaching.
Mr and Mrs ER Monty and their family traveled last week to Aurora. They will spend the summer there while Mr Moody dedicates a few days to prospecting. They will attend summer school at Brigham Young University.

Miss Reba Karns daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Karns former Milford residents now living in Salina Kansas spends a few days in Milford as house guest of Miss Margaret Cochrane. She first came to Milford as a child while her father was foreman at The News print shop. They left Milford 12 or 15 years ago and Miss Karns completed her schooling in Kansas where he is now employed as a teacher. Mr Karns has been foreman for a large Salina publishing concern for several years and is doing well.
The News notes the Cedar City radio station KSUB opening date set for Thursday June 17 at 7:30 PM in the Cedar City area. Co-owners Harold Johnson Jana Lelandy Perry host a public event at the El Escalante hotel and new high school auditorium, with a jamboree and radio dance to follow.
