The 11 year old Miss Alice Bybee of Milford survived a head on collision with an automobile. She suffered a basal skull fracture a compound fracture of the right leg and minor injuries but is recovering at Huntington Memorial Hospital Pasadena. She was rational after the fourth day and is expected to recover fully.

Golden Wedding of Mr and Mrs M Myers in Minersville

The golden wedding observance for Moroni and Mary Myers in Minersville included an open house for 40 friends and a family dinner followed by a public dance. Moroni born 1866 in Beaver and Mary born 1872 in Minersville have lived in the county all their lives, parent to 18 children and 47 grandchildren with 16 great grandchildren, ten daughters and three sons surviving. The gathering honored the couple with relatives from Milford, Minersville, Beaver, Craig Colorado, and other local connections visible in the list of ten sons and daughters and numerous grandchildren.

Panay Pictures Coming to Local Theatre

Manager C L Firmage of the Firmage theatre announces January 7 and 8 showings of motion pictures depicting the sinking of the American gunboat Panay by Japan. The Universal cameraman Norman Al Jay captured the footage and it was first sent to Washington for government inspection.

New Utah Charter Granted for Helvet County Mining Venture

A Utah state charter dated December 22 authorizes a new company to operate mining in Helvet county near the Horn Silver mine in Frisco. The firm may issue five million shares at five cents each and will consolidate claims to develop veins of silver and lead ore long undiscovered. Officers named include Ross E. Jensen president J Holman Waters vice president B F Anderson secretary treasurer with J C Whitaker and Ezra Barton as directors. New Telephone Rates Cut Costs in Milford Area

A statewide rate adjustment by Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph reduces monthly charges for Milford businesses starting January 14. Paystreak To Operate Mine Near Black Rock

Paystreak Mining Company formed to develop mining claims in Millard County near Black Rock station on the Union Pacific line. Officers include F. L. Byron, W. B. Granger, Knox Patterson, Ray Loveless, and Harry Thomas. Five thousand dollars spent so far on machinery and tunnel work advances toward testing three lead-bearing veins and one copper vein, with a 280 foot tunnel from the portal.

Ogden Livestock Show Offers 16000 Prizes

Ogden livestock show on January 7 to 13 awards about 16000 in prizes. Milford Lions Club members voted at the Union Pacific dining room to hold two meetings monthly in the first quarter of 1988 with 6 30 p m as the meeting hour. Lion M H Peel announced plans to flood ground southeast of town for a community skating pond as soon as freezing weather arrives. Captain R C Dugdale noted near completion of a deal to take over Lines in Mine by a national firm and highlighted mining site interest near Frisco with large-scale development potential.
