Seels Goshen showed growth over the year including office visits, letters, and journeys. the year closed with receipts of 8050.5, expenses about 4815.82, and a balance of 1254.42. The corn and crop show accompanying the meeting drew wide farmer participation and extensive exhibits.

March Denies Rumor of Heavy Casualties in 27th Division
Washington reports General March refutes rumors of massive losses in the Twenty seventh Division after review of official lists. Total casualties from all causes number H officers and 1109 men. The division had about 30,000 personnel. over 130,000 officers and men were slated for early return from France, and 200,000+ discharged at home this past week. Company J of Middletown within the division suffered 17 killed and about 30 wounded.

Emmett Johnson Wounded in Action September 27
Sergeant Emmett Johnson, brother of Mrs. Theodore Sloat Sr. and nephew of Mrs. 2 F. Hundley, was severely wounded in action around September 27. A Union Hill native, he served with Company A Signal Engineers after training at Camp DI Fer. He previously worked as a barber in the area and ran his own shop on East Main Street before joining the service in 1917.
