Countries Agree To Nuclear Chain
NATO defense ministers from the United States Great Britain West Germany Turkey and Italy tentatively approved a plan for greater sharing of nuclear defense. The agreement understood to include a chain of nuclear weapons command posts across Western Europe aims to broaden NATO planning participation while preserving U S control of actual firing. McNamara praised the results of the fast moving first day of the meeting.
