HEW Suit Challenged Over Federally Insured Student Loans
In Columbus Ohio the Ohio Attorney General sues HEW claiming the Higher Education Act limits HEW loan insurance to those with few alternatives and that HEW loans fund substandard schools. The state seeks to have its commission run a qualified program and curb HEW loan guarantees in Ohio. Also noted are 33 Venezuelan students at Ohio Wesleyan University as part of a broader government program sending 10,000 students abroad for study.
