House burned Outlaws haven leads to girl found dead

A badly burned teenage girl was found in the ruins of a Middletown Road house used as an Outlaws motorcycle gang haven near Franklin. Deputies questioned two white males with insignia and a female survivor while a state fire marshal investigates the fire report filed at 4 58 am. The girl is described as white in her early teens and may be a local runaway. identification awaits dental charts and notification to parents. The owner is listed as Arnold Jackson, and the site previously saw an Outlaws death by pistol shot on August 24.

Agnew staff denies resignation plan amid speculation

Agnew's office rejects reports he will quit and says he intends to clear himself in the Maryland corruption inquiry. He declined to comment on the unnamed source story while aides insist no quit plan exists and he will push through the federal investigation.

Catch a felon, win gold star

Pasco County deputies award two inch gold stars for felons caught in the act. Sheriff Basil Gaines started the program last November to boost morale. As of ten months, 26 stars adorn 22 cruisers with four deputies earning three stars each. Deputy Buddy Newsome helped start the program after seeing a similar system in Ohio.
