Ohio Cost Control Panel Urges Abolishment of Emergency Board

Ohio Governor James A. Rhodes faces renewed pressure as the Governor's Council for Cost Control calls for abolishing the five member Emergency Board. The body, limited to travel expense approvals, rejected far fewer requests in 1974 than it modified or cut in 1975. Critics warn the panel’s existence may curb officials’ trips, while the state notes travel is evaluated case by case. An Otterbein student linked to Ohio history is also mentioned.
