Middletown School District votes on 3 mill levy to stay even

Middletown School District will place a 3 mill hold-the-line tax levy on the November ballot. Superintendent Samuel Dalton cites 8.26 percent operating cost inflation and a $960,000 drop in expected tax income due to House Bill 920 reducing tangible personal property taxes. Board President Betty Lou Nein says the levy keeps education quality while maintaining the lowest district rate in Butler County.
