Hollywood retirees find respite in Country Home
In Woodland Hills California the Motion Picture Country Home shelters 41 acres of gardens and cottages for aging industry workers from star to writer. Residents like Mary Astor and Dewitt Bodeen live self sufficiently with care funded by the Motion Picture and Television Fund paying for upkeep and activities. The fund, supported by industry payroll deductions, covers nearly four million dollars yearly to operate the home and support residents.
