Rescuers used boats to reach about 30 people stranded today after Nolan Creek flooded when six inches of rain fell in eight hours. One person was missing while six others previously unaccounted for were found safe. The flood affected Killeen and nearby Harker Heights and Nolanville.
The base wage taxed rises to 14 100 with no rate change at 5.85 percent for employees and 7.9 percent for self employed. About 19 million workers will be affected, yielding a 1975 maximum employer tax of 824.85 and self employed total of 1113.90. Retirees may earn 120 without benefits loss, up to 2520.
Albert Rees, director of the Council on Wage and Price Stability, said times like these require less self interest and more consideration of others' problems. He urged individuals to state what they are prepared to do to help fight inflation and avoid blaming others.
