Gravel Truck Capsizes On Middletown Turn

An 18 wheeler hauling gravel capsized while turning from Roos evelt Boulevard onto University Boulevard in Middletown during the Monday morning commute. The Affordable Paving truck, traveling about 40 mph, tipped onto its left side spilling loose gravel and fuel. Driver Scott Morris was trapped and later hospitalized with cuts. no life threatening injuries reported. Morris was cited for failure to control after cleanup crews cleared the scene by noon.

Kilburn Challenges Ariss in County Sheriff Race

Kilburn, a challenger with a law enforcement background, faces Sheriff Ariss in a race framed by jail crowding and police reform. Ohio to pilot real time law enforcement data sharing program

Warren County Sheriff and Franklin, Mason, and Middletown police join Dayton Columbus Ohio Highway Patrol and Delaware County Sheriff in a five year pilot for the Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program. The $15.3 million homeland security grant funds a statewide data sharing and emergency communications system. It differs from the Attorney General system by enabling real time data sharing across more than 900 agencies. Forty percent remain on paper. Fifty agencies join this December and January. rest to come within five years.

William H. Denzer 83 Tampa businessman WWII veteran dies

William H. Denzer of Tampa died October 22 2004 in his sleep at 83. He owned and managed Rinks Department Store before retiring and served in World War II.
