The Ohio Department of Liquor Control said botted liquor prices rise effective Nov 1. Domestic and imported brands will see retail increases averaging 19 and 12 cents respectively, while wholesale prices rise about 16 cents for domestic and 10 cents for imports. Distiller cost increases drive the change.
Ohio will buy about 500 compact cars and only about 30 full size sedans over the next year. State purchasing officer John Kiger says the move follows high fuel and automobile costs and reverses patterns from two years ago before the energy crunch.
