Opening lead order in a bridge finesse dilemma
In a bridge example South faces a choice of plays after winning the diamond lead. He tests a trump finesse first, then a spade finesse, and finally clubs. The chosen sequence preserves chances: if spade finesse fails, the ace of spades in dummy guards club losers, while starting with clubs can doom the contract if the ace is wrong.
