Police say six people including the bakery owner and five customers were shot in a New Britain Connecticut crime at Donna Lee Bakery. The motive is robbery with wallets and handbags taken. a 1964 Pontiac is viewed as the getaway car. Detectives expect results soon as they question residents. Names identified include John Salerni and Helen Giansanti among the victims.
President Ford flies from Washington to Nogales for talks with Mexican President Luis Echeverria on oil potential and migrant labor. discussions include immigration, border issues, and possible oil for concessions, with no formal agenda. The trip includes stops at Magdalena de Kino and Tubac for expanded talks amid unemployment concerns in both nations.

Elementary schools in the city also canceled classes due to a burst water pipe over the weekend.
Comedian Jack Benny, 80, is in good condition at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital after falling ill in Texas. He was admitted as a precaution Sunday afternoon and underwent routine tests. Benny left Dallas Presbyterian Hospital and flew to Los Angeles by private jet. he canceled a Dallas benefit performance due to numbness in his hands and arms.
