British letter campaign targets Clark County voters
Clark County residents received letters from Britons urging support for Kerry in the presidential race. The Guardian campaign asks 36,000 undeclared local voters to write or consider voting for John Kerry, prompting mixed reactions from recipients who doubt outside influence. Some voters, including Beverly Coale and Dawn Brink, report curiosity or receptiveness while others doubt effectiveness and worry about foreign meddling. As of Monday about 14,000 Clark County names were given to be contacted, with some letters sent to undecided voters and others aimed at stopping future mailings.
