Saigon Roads Unsafe Amid Harassment By Reds
Two of Saigon's major highways were unsafe due to harassment by Communist forces. Highway 13 north of Saigon and Route 15 toward Vung Tau were restricted. Highway 1 to the Central Highlands was cut by a blown culvert. A traffic jam formed as fighting neared the roads while air and ground attacks continued nearby. An American helicopter evacuating advisers was hit. one crewman died and others were wounded.
