Crisis talks in Bonn follow a hijack of Boer 737 Flight LH181 with 31 women and seven children aboard. Two hijackers men and two women armed with pistols and grenades threaten to blow up the plane unless 13 comrades are freed and a $15 million ransom is paid by 8 am.
The entertainer Bing Crosby dies at 73 in Madrid after winning a handicap golf game. His widow Kathryn plans burial beside his parents and first wife in Los Angeles. Crosby had toured Britain for charity and left a lasting mark as a top selling recording artist and Oscar winner.
