Springboro Budgets Trimmed by County Commissioners
Springboro village faces a 31 000 plus reduction from a 922 978 98 1978 budget adopted July 14 final authority rests with the county budget commission. Anne Huffman says cuts were routine with most reductions in general funds and estimates of revenue guiding the adjusted spending plan. Council had sought 258 221 for general funds but certification came to 227 000. The commission of county auditor treasurer and prosecutor reviews municipal budgets and sets annual spend limits. Council also acted on other business as it adopted measures in the session.

State auditor certified Northwest Local in Hamilton County and Ashtabula Area City as fund short. Northwest Local projects a 622 983 deficit with potential 15 day closure costs including unemployment and maintenance. Carlisle Council grants controversial rezoning
Carlisle Village Council approved a rezoning for El An Ja Corp to bring a new office storage and show area for Gross Lumber Co on Central Avenue Ohio 123 by a 5 0 vote with Clyde Eldridge absent. Truck traffic will be restricted away from residential streets with loading on Central Avenue and no Linden Street access. Construction to begin in early spring.

Three youths face ten charges after riding motorcycle
Police pursued a motorbike that ran a stop sign at The Alameda and Grand Avenue. A 14 year old was charged with wilfully eluding police and other offenses. A second youth, about 14, faced licenses and equipment charges. A 13 year old was charged with riding triple and safety equipment violations. They must appear in Juvenile Court in Hamilton on Oct 14.
