UAW clears first hurdle on Ford contract vote

The UAW International executive board unanimously approved a tentative three year settlement with Ford. The deal must be approved by the National Ford Council before rank and file voting begins at about 99 bargaining units. Terms were not disclosed pending council action. Wholesale price rise fastest in eleven months
