Carter Says U S and Soviets Near Arms Agreement at UN

President Carter told the United Nations General Assembly that the United States and the Soviet Union are within sight of a significant agreement to limit strategic weapons. Census figures show median family income rose to 14 960 dollars in 1976 up 9 percent from 1975 yet inflation at 6 percent erodes the gain to 3 percent or 460 dollars.
