Ohio seeks four times bond issue for state projects
Ohio administration officials said requests for money from the $250 million bond issue now total about $400 million, four times the initial $100 million. Governor Rhodes denied pledges beyond the planned program, noting funds must fit a master higher education plan. The board will present a plan to the legislature, with allocations for higher education, distressed-area schools, parks, and state facilities. A Cambridge delegation asked $4 million for Salt Fork Creek Reservoir Dam, with $2.5 million of conservation funds likely for southeastern Ohio and other requests pending.
