Meyer fights to connect with average voters in Ohio Senate race
Democrat William Meyer of Oxford campaigns in the 4th District against Republican incumbent Buzz Lukens, touting populist and humorous tactics to reach the “average” voter. He backs the income tax, rejects repeal, seeks a 50 percent cut in property taxes, ethics code for lawmakers, improved elder care, hospital and farm aid, and consumer protection while visiting hamlets and stressing a district-focused approach. Meyer, 48, is a tavern owner and World War II veteran with a Purple Heart and Bronze Star, residing in Oxford with his wife.
