Suspect In Halloween Killing Held in Johnstown
A 39 year old former Merchant Marine sailor, Harry Gossard, was arrested in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, on suspicion in the death of 6 year old Karen Mauk. Stove Blast Kills Four Youngsters in Rural Ohio
Four children died when a stove exploded in a rural Ashtabula County home. The blast burned the house trailer and a nearby home, killing Richard R. Tryon age 4 and three Riggs children Kathyrin 11 months Erline 3 and Richard 2. Mrs. Tryon, caring for the youngsters, was blown from the dwelling and unable to assist. The cause was not determined and the stove was reportedly fueled with bottled gas. Funeral services were arranged for the youths.
