Tense Mississippi capital endures civil rights stand

Los Angeles as focal point for total community integration
Rev Maurice Dawkins, spokesman for the Los Angeles chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, says Los Angeles will be the Birmingham style target for a total community integration. He notes the city has the largest Black population west of the Mississippi and says a general attack on de facto discrimination in jobs and housing will involve unions. Dawkins plans a meeting with Negro leaders next week to map strategy and timetable.
