Kennedy school aid bill heads for House clash
Kennedy’s 2.5 billion public school aid bill, passed in the Senate 49 to 34, moves to a likely bitter House showdown. Senate supporters expect a slim House margin, possibly trimmed. The measure expands grants for teacher salaries and operating costs, with potential cuts debated in conference.
