South Middletown approves 210-acre industrial park plan
The Middletown planning commission voted 3 to 2 to approve preliminary plans for a 210 acre park in South Middletown. The vote followed debate over nearby residents and a unanimous step to begin zoning the tract after it was annexed last year. The project is led by Armco Steel Corp and MADE. The commission conditioned approval on preserving access for a potential Cincinnati outerbelt through a 100 foot corridor, a route highway officials say is tentative. MADE president James Shull opposed provisions that would encumber the land for the highway.
