Arkansas 12 Republican delegates were told to nominate Winthrop Rockefeller for president at the National Convention but are not bound to vote for him. The move followed a dispute with GOP State Chairman William L. Spicer, a Goldwater backer, who accused Rockefeller of trying to sway delegates toward his brother Nelson Rockefeller, a rival candidate.

Lifetime driving ban for 64 year old driver at municipal court
A 64 year old driver, Tobe Moyer of 604 17th Ave, received a lifetime driving suspension after a guilty finding for driving while suspended. Moyer had been under a three year license suspension since 1962 after arrest at Doty and North on May 18. Judge J T Lamb also fined Harold Spencer and several others for various traffic violations including suspensions and permit infractions.
