Chautauqua Face-Lifts by Detroit Baptists Team
About 47 men from Detroit Baptist churches traveled to Chautauqua for a weekend retreat project. They worked Friday to Sunday, painting park benches, repairing tables and bowling alleys, with electricians and carpenters among them. Park Manager Warren Howard estimates 500 hours of labor, replacing what would take the park crew two weeks. Marvin Jackson and Wally Atkinson Stephenson were photographed spray-painting benches and grass sections.
