Huggins accepts two year Cincinnati contract limit

Cincinnati coach Bob Huggins will remain under a two year contract after the university removed a rollover provision tied to his arrest and drunken driving conviction. President Nancy Zimpher informed him last week there would be no extension, leaving a two year deal and a possible buyout option. Huggins has 399 wins against 127 losses in 16 seasons and guided Cincinnati to 14 straight NCAA appearances including a Final Four in 1992. Jack Nicklaus announces the British Open at St Andrews, July 14 17, will be his final tournament appearance. Nicklaus, 65, returns to St Andrews for one last time as the Royal and Ancient rotates the Old Course for his farewell. He is exempt as a past champion until 65 and has won the claret jug three times.

OSU Biancardi accused in NCAA probe findings and fallout

The NCAA report alleges OSU assistant men's basketball coach Paul Biancardi breached ethical standards amid claims by a Columbus nanny and housekeeper who aided Slobodan Savovic and claimed improper benefits to the player. It cites misused funds tied to Aleksandar Radojevic, a 7 foot 3 recruit who never played for OSU, and notes no sanctions were announced. OSU must respond by July 26 with a fall hearing planned before the NCAA infractions committee.
