Madison School levy decision awaited as ballots counted
Voters in the Madison Local School District await a final tally on the 1.1 million operating levy after a May 3 tally of 1359 to 1356. Up to 39 provisional envelopes and one absentee ballot could alter the result, with a voluntary recount possible if the margin stays under 0.5 percent. The board certifies by May 18, and most trustees plan to attend the count at the Hamilton Board of Elections.

Dayton man on trial for alleged attack at Middletown bar
Antwan Hall, 24, faces two counts each of reported incident and holding against will, plus aggravated robbery and felonious incident charges for an alleged January 25 assault at Tina's Bar and Bistro, where police say he bound a woman with electrical cords, robbed her, and took her phone after a dispute following drinks and cards. The victim, an acquaintance, was found bound and injured, and Hall disputes the accusations, claiming a consensual encounter after a drug deal went bad. The trial is in Butler County Common Pleas Court.
