In Oakland California police questioned Gertrude Mae Jackson 25 and Jeannace Freeman 19 about the killings of Martha 4 and Larry 6 whose bodies were found in a Crooked River Gorge near Madras Oregon. Each accused the other of beating the children with a tire iron. A warrant charged Mrs Jackson with murder. Letha June Little 21 was arrested with them as a hitchhiker who had been picked up after the killings.
