Water to flow Friday in canal south of Sorg plant
City officials expect water will be turned into the Mid dletown Hydraulic Canal south of the Sorg Paper Co. plant this Friday after diversion during Bulls Run sewer outfall work. Wrenn Paper Co. is the canal’s principal user and the city has pro-rated extra electric costs with them during construction. An engineering committee led by G H Suhs studies filling the canal bed south of the plant to supply Wrenn via underground conduit, enabling a bridge raze on West Central Avenue and a new one-way link between Central and 1st Avenues. Scudding of the interceptor sewer fill on Verity Golf Course begins today as Foley Construction restores the fairway grass.
