Steel Girders For Bridge Are Erected
Workers for the American Bridge Company began sub contract work on steel girders for the West Middletown bridge project. Girders are completed between the west-end abutment and pier 1 and between piers 1 and 2. The crew aims to lay all girders over the two spans within six weeks, then pour reinforced concrete floors with an asphalt top, and finally build the bridge railings. Drainage tiling is installed and dirt fill widened to create a temporary roadway for traffic during the West Central Ave approach work.
