Pentagon Won Comment On McNamara Wall Barrier
Congressional testimony reveals no cost effectiveness studies for the McNamara Wall barrier and the Pentagon will not release cost figures. Officials say infiltration continues through the DMZ and around its western Laos border as estimates place 81,000 to 100,000 enemy troops moving toward South Vietnam this year. McNamara directed officials not to discuss the project while the private Institute for Defense Analysis conducted the sole cost analysis cited.
