Video Will Never Replace Radio, Kaltenborn Says

COLUMBUS AP Kaltenborn told the 20th Annual Institute for Education by Radio that radio will endure and never be fully replaced by television. He cited radio’s advantages in news, music, overseas transmissions, and reach where people cannot see. He warned many TV stations will be big and unprofitable, limiting educators’ TV chances, and urged schools to expand radio use rather than rely on lectures. He noted education radio stations fail due to simple lectures, neglect by universities, and Americans liking free service with little support.
