The FTC says many IRAs fail to meet the 1974 law’s intent and provide inadequate consumer protections. Banks and insurers market IRAs with complex disclosures that consumers may not understand, and some institutions even sell certificates of deposit as IRA plans with auto-extended maturities.

Bicycle safety inspections in Trenton with Kiwanis club
Trenton police and the Kiwanis Club will run bicycle safety inspections and registration this Saturday and next, 8 am to 4 pm at the Municipal Building. All city bikes must be registered to aid return of lost or stolen cycles, with a 50 cent fee. Sgt Eugene Kelley leads the program, and outsiden riders may bring bikes for safety checks during the same hours per Police Chief Joe Richard.

CRC chief to speak on regionalism and land use
Retired Army Lt. Col. Archibald E Roberts will discuss Regionalism and Land Use Control on May 17 at 7 30 p m. He leads the national Committee to Restore the Constitution and visits Butler County sponsored by the local chapter. Garfield Avenue man arrested after crash
David Bare aged 20 of 226 Garfield Avenue was arrested after police, following an auto crash on Garfield Avenue after 10 p.m., found him fighting with Kelly Mosley of Hamilton and Ernest Mosley at Central Avenue and University Boulevard. Pinning ceremony tonight for MU Middletown nursing grads
