Butler County Ohio moves forward sales tax to fund system
The Butler County commissioners advance a permanent 0.5 percent piggyback sales tax in Southwest Ohio, with hearings set for June 10 a.m. at the Government Services Center in Hamilton. Jolivette backs the plan amid prior voter referendum risk and notes possible future conversion to a permanent rate if approved. Officials aim to fund a $21 million system, though a feasibility study suggested $25 million, and excess funds may cover county maintenance once installed. Residents can comment in person or online.
