Air fares rising after CAB order across US routes

The Civil Aeronautics Board approved a 2 percent rise in all domestic air fares for two weeks and allowed up to 10 percent increases in first class and promotional fares on North Atlantic Europe routes. Economy fares on those routes were not raised. Concorde fares will be 20 percent above first class for comparable subsonic flights with a Washington to Paris fare listed at 827 dollars.

Greek reformer Panagoulis dies in road crash in Athens

Alexander Panagoulis, 37, Greek parliament member once linked to a bomb plot against ex-dictator Papadopoulos, was killed when his car skidded into a storefront near Glyfada. Officials said no other vehicle was involved. he had recently become an independent after clashes with Center Union leaders.

Former Kings Island monkey aids artificial blood research

A baboon donated by Kings Island to Dr. Leland Clark at Children’s Hospital Research Foundation has had half its blood replaced with artificial blood as part of a trial. Clark says results are promising and may bring artificial blood closer to human use. the baboon is adapting, while most escaped baboons are being recaptured and returned to owners with two kept by the park.
