Police Chief Shot in Carlisle by Former Officer

Carlisle Police Chief Robert Reichard was shot twice at his apartment and listed in serious condition. Brenda Prether, 28, a former Carlisle officer, is charged in the case after barricading herself in the unit and firing, with two .38 caliber handguns recovered.

CG&E Sees Narrow Impact If Winter Is Normal

The Federal Power Commission warned the nation could face a worse natural gas shortage this winter, while CG&E expects only a moderate impact in its area.
