27 Percent Don’t Pay Preble County Taxes
Tax protest by Preble County Concerned Citizens for Fair Taxation led to 27 percent of first half 1975 property tax payments unpaid countywide. In Preble Shawnee district delinquency is 36 percent, with other districts at 31 percent C R Coblentz, 22 percent Twin Valley, 20 percent Eaton, and 18 percent College Corner, per Treasurer James Geeting. Delinquent bills totaled 531 in Preble Shawnee, 274 in C R Coblentz, 420 in Twin Valley, 629 in Eaton, down to figures for College Corner not shown.

The Alcoholism Council of Butler County launches its annual membership drive to fund a public awareness program. Frank C. Clearcreek to try again on township police levy
Clearcreek Township trustees will resubmit a police levy to voters in November after a narrow 499-458 defeat. The force organized last September used January funds from federal revenue sharing.
