Three Suffer Minor Injuries In City Car Collisions

Three people sustained minor injuries in a two car crash on Stanley Street at Superior Avenue. Robert Ligett 40 cited for running a stop sign complained of a painful right elbow. Andrew Green 35 and a 10 year old passenger also injured. Damage estimated up to 1500 dollars. Peggy Shepherd 16 backing up on First Avenue collided with Robert Coffey 21. Other accidents reported included Crawford Street Queen and Sutphin Avenue Central with minor damages and a parked car struck on Calumet near Garfield Street.

AP report from Cincinnati says 22 month old Donald Jackson died at General Hospital from lead poisoning. His twin Ronald is in fair condition with the same illness after eating lead painted plaster from their bedroom walls.

Donnathan Reports Thefts By Begging Pair On Central Ave

Herbert Donnathan of Oxford State Road was approached by a girl on Central Avenue near the McAlpin Store who grabbed a $20 bill after he refused her request for money. He said the girl and her older sister had begged there the night before.

Ohio's End Of Michigan Road Delayed

Michigan will wait for Ohio before opening its end of the new U S 23. The 17 mile relocation from Dundee to the state line near Sylvania covers 6.42 million dollars in four lane divided highway. Ohio contracts face delay pushing completion from November 30, 1959 to next summer.

Con Game Is Claimed In Roof Painting Incident

Mrs. John Bryant of 141 Garfield Street reported to police that two men posing as roof painters charged her $45 for painting the entire roof after she believed they were from an insurance company. They left in a red and white pickup. her husband had hired them only to fix a leak and would sign a warrant for their arrest.

Boy in Good Condition After Bicycle Crash

Gary Nickel, 14, of Germantown Route 1, remained in good condition at Middletown Hospital last night with a head concussion. He was struck yesterday morning on Route 4 near Keister Road when attempting a left turn into a private driveway as Warren Myers, 65, of Middle town Germantown Road Franklin, passed a truck and hit the bicycle from behind, state patrol reported.

Auto Blaze At Fire House 1 Sparks Alarm

A white 1958 Cadillac convertible burst into flames in the Fire House 1 driveway last night. Edwin B. Smith of 33 Ardmore Dr owned the car and the rear seat smoked before firefighters extinguished it. Damage was about 200 dollars. Earlier, another car on Walnut Street at Calumet Avenue owned by Curtis McCoy of 904 Lake St. Franklin caught fire under the hood, causing about 10 dollars in damage.

Death Strike Ends Little Russell Anderson at Church

Russell Roy Anderson, six, died after a car driven by 62 year old Catherine Stowell lurched forward from a Trinity Lutheran Church school pickup area in Scarsdale New York. Arthur Anderson his father waited in line and found his son after the crash. Police said the vehicle struck him while he stood with his books awaiting his father.

Three migrant strawberry pickers children died from electric shock after touching a power line while handling a pipe.
