Ohio water standards disapproved by federal EPA
Ohio’s revised water quality standards were rejected by the U.S. EPA, surprising state officials. The dispute centers on dissolved oxygen, temperature limits, and variance procedures, with Ohio given until August 15 to submit compliant standards or face federal setting of the standards. Williams and regional director Adamakus plan talks in Chicago to resolve the ongoing differences amid broader clashes over air quality rules.
